With an increase in housing demand,
Ritz-Craft is preparing to open an additional production facility in
Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania. In order to reopen the facility, which has been
inactive since the housing downturn in 2007, Ritz-Craft must hire approximately
60 new employees and complete extensive upgrades in order to incorporate
today’s home building technology. Upon completion, this additional facility
will significantly increase Ritz-Craft’s production capabilities in
Mifflinburg.
“With the tremendous rebound in housing,
we are approaching maximum capacity in our current Mifflinburg facilities,”
explains Steve Forcheskie, General Manager. “We are extremely excited to hire
new employees to help with upgrading our third facility. Once the plant is up
and running, we will also need a variety of personnel across all construction
trades in order to complete the home building process.”
Ritz-Craft, a family owned company which
has thrived throughout varying market conditions, is celebrating its 60th year
in business in 2014 and remains one of the few privately owned modular home
manufacturers in the United States. The company offers its employees excellent
benefits, including affordable health care, vision coverage, dental coverage, a
company-matched 401k plan and paid holidays and vacations. Starting wages are
commensurate with previous experience.
“Ritz-Craft's expansion is a true
testament to the quality of their product, which in turn is a testament to their
skilled and dedicated workers,” says Donald Alexander, Director of the Union
County Economic Development Office. “Central Pennsylvania saw so many home
building businesses collapse during the most recent economic downturn; that
Ritz-Craft has been able to weather the economic storm and now rebound is truly
exciting, as I see their resiliency and renewed growth as harbingers of more
good things happening in our area.”
