Ritz-Craft Corporation Goes International

Now Delivering to Canada

JONESVILLE MI: Ritz-Craft Corporation of Michigan recently blazed a new and international trail, by delivering their first modular/system-built home across the border and into Canada. The custom, 2,379 square foot, ranch-style home was delivered to North Shore Quality Homes in Ontario.

This expansion earns Ritz-Craft the distinction of being one of only two American-based modular home manufacturers known to deliver homes to Canada.

“It’s encouraging to watch as demand for modular construction increases in the U.S. and internationally,” said Donna Peak, Executive Director of the NAHB’s Building Systems Council.

Upon entering this two bedroom, two bathroom, open-concept plan, homeowners are greeted by striking sightlines into the kitchen and living areas; which are separated by sets of decorative columns. The custom home also includes several sought-after design features including custom cabinetry, high-end quartz kitchen counters, tile flooring and a stunning coffered ceiling, just to name a few. Additional features, like a dedicated utility room and walk-out basement, add extra value to the already functional floor plan.

This Canadian home is one of several projects recently garnered by Ritz-Craft Corporation of Michigan. The company has also landed several contracts for large projects in North Dakota, where affordable housing is in high demand.

“As homebuyers become more educated about modular home construction, they realize the numerous advantages of factory-built housing. For example, the speed and precision with which they can be built mean that a buyer can be in his or her home in about a third of the time as it would take to complete a site built home,” adds Peak. “Plus, in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, we saw numerous examples of modular construction that withstood the storm when other forms of housing did not. This is a testament to their strength and longevity.”

Established in 2009, North Shore Quality Homes is owned by Kevin and Michel Cofell as well as Steve and Lynn Holka. According to the ownership, they decided to use Ritz-Craft as a manufacturer for several reasons: “We like Ritz-Craft for their finishing quality and their ability to customize, as well as the appeal of their elevations.”

According to Steve Jackson, Ritz-Craft’s Michigan Sales Manager, “We are excited to align ourselves with a Canadian company that holds many of the same values as we do, and to work for continued growth in their marketplace.”
