Ritz-Craft to Introduce “The Palmetto” at IBS 2008
11/05/2007

Ritz-Craft Corporation will unveil a 2700 sq. ft. Craftsman style ranch named the Palmetto, at booth # LotD05 at the International Builders Show in Orlando Feb. 13-16. The design was created by Frank Betz Associates Inc., who is known as one of the nation’s top design firms, providing trend setting and award winning stock and custom plans to builders and consumers nationwide. Paul D. John, President and CEO said “The rustic appearance of the Craftsman style harkens back to the hands on craftsmanship of the-turn-of-the-century Arts & Crafts period. To add visual interest to the elevations Frank Betz used brackets under the eaves, cedar shakes in the gables and a columned trellis”. A shed dormer dresses up the front-loaded garage and the garage doors face the front door of the home, to create an inviting courtyard and 70’deep x 66’ wide footprint. The home is targeted toward the 55 and older buyer or move up buyer looking for single floor living.

Eric W. John, Vice President explained “The Palmetto will be erected in six off-site built sections and a number of ship loose gables, hip panels, saddle panels and shed roof dormers. The square footage doesn’t include the unfinished 2nd floor space or unfinished space above the garage. This sprawling ranch with a courtyard garage will be constructed and furnished in just 6 days and boasts a dramatically open floor plan”. One step into the foyer entry provides a wide-angle view of the dining room, great room and fireplace, hearth kitchen, breakfast room with computer center and the built-in patio area to the backyard pool or lanai. Generous upgrades like quartz countertops, ceramic tile floors, 42’ overhead kitchen cabinets, 10-foot ceilings, wide profile moldings and coffered ceilings grace the interior of the home.
Today’s laundry rooms are for multitaskers and with that in mind the laundry room / family studio is a generously proportioned room that accommodates a front load washer and dryer; full size base and overhead cabinets along two walls and a work area for crafts, gift wrapping and other tasks. Just outside this area is a bench seat, bookcase and backpack wall peg kids station / mud room off the garage. This combined area creates a fantastic bonus space that is appreciated by anyone looking for a space to get things done.
The master bedroom suite takes up an entire wing of the home and includes a huge dressing area with his and her walk-in closets, an 18-foot master bedroom and compartmentalized bath with ceramic walk-in shower and whirlpool tub.
